Well, this may not be my entire life story but there is enough here to help you while away those spare hours you seem to have (with nothing better to do !)
Born in 1963, the first child to Marion and Peter West in Oxford, I attended 4 schools all within walking distance of my home in Barton. My three sisters are all younger than I and were all brought up in the same house and went to the same schools.
I met Deb, my wife, whilst in my last year at school. Her sister was dating my friend, Deb went everywhere with her and so we often ended up making a foursome to go shopping, the chip shop or the park.
I went to work after O' levels and started a 3 year apprenticeship with BT just before my seventeenth birthday.
Part way though my apprenticeship I moved in with my maternal grandmother following the death of her husband (my grandfather affectionately known as "Pop Pop").
After my apprenticeship I bought my grandmothers house and renovated it. My Grandmother spent a lot of time staying with her children (she had nine, eight of whom were still alive).
Deb move into the house and shortly afterwards we married. Our first child, Hayley was born about 20 months later, closely followed by Kelly another 20 months from then.
I continued to work at BT for a total of 18 years when I finally took volutary redundancy to seek my fortunes elsewhere.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . and as they say . . . . . . . the rest is history !
